I work as a professional animal artist and I live in Oxfordshire, England, with my wife. two sons and our Border Collie Lily.
I have always had a fascination with the natural world and cannot remember a time when I didn’t have a desire to try to create my own images of the animals and birds that I encountered. In those early days however, if anyone had suggested that I could actually convert that enjoyable passtime into a career, I would have not have believed them.
Now, some years (more than I care to remember) later, that possibility has become a reality and I count myself extremely fortunate to be able to make a living from what I really enjoy doing.
Over the last ten years I have also added another facet to this career, by becoming involved in teaching painting and drawing workshops and courses. I find the process of teaching hugely rewarding and it gives me an opportunity to take a refreshing break from the solitary studio work that must inevitably form a large part of my working week.
